“The Master Cat, or Puss in Boots” is an unusual tale. It is a fairy tale about a cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth, and the hand of a princess in marriage to his penniless and low-born master! The oldest written record is Italian and was penned by Giovanni Francesco Straparola in 1550-1553.
